Seafood
Fresh seafood is the island's speciality: grilled fish, prawns and crab, often chosen at the counter and cooked to order around Pantai Cenang, Kuah and the fishing villages.
Local dishes
Look for laksa Langkawi, nasi campur (rice with a choice of dishes) and mee goreng at local stalls.
Night markets (pasar malam) move between towns on different days of the week and are a good way to try many small dishes.
Good to know
Many local restaurants are halal. Opening days change, so check before you drive out to a particular place.
