Who handles your data
MaiLangkawi runs the marketplace and the booking system. The rental company on your booking receives the details it needs to rent you the car.
What we collect
Only what is needed to book the car and rent it to you.
Your contact detailsYour name, email and phone number, and a company name if you book for a business.To confirm your booking and reach you about it.
The driverThe main driver's name, IC or passport number, date of birth and the country of the driving licence.So the rental company can check the driver at pickup.
Your bookingDates, places, car, extras, payments and refunds, and any flight or ferry you tell us about.To run the booking and keep the records the law requires.
The rentalThe car's condition at pickup and return, reports you make during the rental and any review you write.To settle the return fairly and keep the service safe.
Card details are entered on the payment provider's secure page. We never see or store your card number.
Why we use it

- To take payments, give refunds and keep the records the law requires.
- To send booking emails, and WhatsApp updates only if you choose them.
- To keep the service safe and improve it. What people search for is counted without personal details.
Your choices and rights
Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may:
See your dataAsk for a copy of the personal data held about you.
Correct itAsk for anything wrong or out of date to be corrected.
Stop optional messagesTurn off optional messages, such as WhatsApp updates, at any time.
Your details are kept for as long as needed for your bookings and for the records the law requires. To make a request, use the contact page.
